Role Overview:
We’re eagerly looking for a Kitchen Helper to assist with the operation of our bakery. As a Kitchen Helper at Ian Cakery, you will play a crucial role in assisting our skilled pastry chefs and bakers in creating exquisite cakes and pastries that delight our customers’ taste buds and celebrate their special moments. Your passion and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment will contribute to the overall success of our bakery.
Primary Job Duties:
· Assist in basic food preparation including wash and peel vegetables and fruit
· Clean kitchen equipment, kitchen utenssils, as well as food preparation and storage areas
· Load and unload dishwasher
· Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers
· Receive and store goods in different areas of the kitchen
· Sweep and mop floors, and perform other duties to assist cook and kitchen staff.
· Some secondary school education is required.
· No experience is required, will provide on-site training
· Good health condition
· Ability to lift and carry heavy items properly
· Demonstrated interest in food preparation and kitchen operations
· Time management skills
· Basic food preparation skills
· Basic cleaning and maintenance skills
· Speak and understand English
· Knowledge of bakery and cooking in general.
· Courses in first aid, Foodsafe and handling of workplace hazardous materials are assets
