We are on the lookout for a dedicated and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary family. If you have a flair for creativity in the kitchen and a desire to lead, train, and inspire a team of chefs, then Dragon Yan is the place for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff.
Train kitchen helpers to help them grow quickly.
Prepare and cook complete meals or specialty dishes as per Dragon Yan's standards.
Lead, instruct, and mentor cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
Develop and introduce new recipes that resonate with our brand and clientele.
Collaborate in planning menus and ensuring the quality of dishes.
Requisition food, kitchen supplies, and equipment as needed.
Organize and arrange kitchen utensils wisely. Ensure a safe, clean environment for kitchen use.
Requirements:
Minimum two years of experience in a professional kitchen environment.
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
Excellent knowledge of Chinese and/or Chinese Canadian cuisine would be an asset.
Exceptional communication skills.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations professionally.
