WL Bottle Depot Ltd. is a federally incorporated product stewardship corporation with beverage container management in British Columbia as our core business. Our mandate is to develop, manage, and improve systems to recover used packaging and end-of-life products from consumers and ensure that they are properly recycled and not land-filled or incinerated.

Role Overview:

We seek a dynamic and passionate Financial Manager to become an integral part of our growing team. As a Financial Manager at WL Bottle Depot Ltd., you will assume a critical position within our organization, playing a key role in managing the financial aspects of our recycling and deposit services company in Williams Lake, BC. Your expertise in financial management will be instrumental in driving our mission of promoting sustainability, reducing waste, and contributing to the betterment of our community and the environment.

What will you do in this role?

·         Oversee the financial planning and budgeting process with finesse, fine-tuning estimates, and maintaining a sharp focus on aligning financial goals with operational realities.

·         Pioneer the development and implementation of cutting-edge financial policies, systems, and procedures, tailoring them to meet the unique needs of our recycling and deposit services establishment.

·         Take charge of planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating the financial department's operations, ensuring seamless financial processes and optimal outcomes.

·         Identify and mitigate financial risks, including assessing the impact of economic, regulatory, and industry changes on the company's financial stability.

·         Spearhead the preparation and coordination of dynamic financial statements, summaries, and comprehensive cost-benefit analyses, delivering insightful financial management reports that drive strategic decisions.

·         Lead and manage 1-2 staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members.

·         Ensure adherence to all financial regulations, reporting requirements, and tax obligations. Facilitate internal and external audits as necessary.

·         Maintain a healthy cash flow by forecasting cash needs, optimizing cash management strategies, and ensuring adequate liquidity.

·         Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing insights to support strategic decision-making. Notify and report to senior management concerning any critical trends.

·         Demonstrate a genuine passion for environmental sustainability and actively seek opportunities to integrate eco-friendly financial practices into company operations.

 

Job Requirements:

·         Minimum bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

·         A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial planning and analysis or other financial activities are required.

·         A minimum of 3 years experience at managerial level in accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial planning and analysis or other financial activities are required.

·         Exceptional strategic thinking abilities with a proven capability to develop and execute financial strategies that align with organizational goals.

·         Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with experience in managing and mentoring financial teams to achieve high performance and cohesion.

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to conduct complex financial analyses and provide actionable insights.

·         A solid understanding of financial regulations, accounting standards, and compliance requirements, with the ability to ensure adherence.

·         Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.

·         The flexibility to adapt to changing financial landscapes and industry trends, while remaining proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement.
